Espionage, sabotage and info gathering was always a part of galactic empire life. In order to start a mission you'll need to research appropriate technologies and train agents . You can train them on any planet.

A mission success depends on many factors. Specific factors will be noted in each mission description.

Main factors of a success are number of agents sent, Spy master skill of the officer as well as number of colonies target empire has. More colonies target empire has easier a mission completion will be.

Main factors to defend against a spy operation would be number of defending agents and Telepath skill of the officer.

Also, if your officer has Assassin skill each turn it will try and eliminate an enemy operating agent.

Gathers empire's general information, such as: treasure and income, current research, it's status and research output, overall ship strength, etc.

Sabotage Research
Your agents will be sent to sabotage target's current research. Additionally agents might capture valuable research information returning with additional research points.
Maximum of 20% of target current research points can be sabotaged. Up to 70% from sabotaged amount can be returned by agents to your empire.

Your agents will be sent to sabotage enemy ships. Best ships will be targeted first.
More spies you send more ships might be sabotaged. Military ships will be sabotaged first.

Your agents will be sent to sabotage planetary defenses. Orbital defenses will be targeted first.
More agents you send more buildings might be sabotaged. Military buildings will be sabotaged only.

Using backstage influence, instigation and propaganda, your agents will try to ignite a revolt and overthrow planet government making this colony loyal to your empire.
This mission might have success if target empire has more than 10 colonies. The most distant colonies will be targeted first.

By raiding financial infrastructure your agents will try to divert financial flows to your empire for a short period.
Up to 30% of credits can be diverted to your empire treasure.
