In Delta Quadrant: Horizons, you start with a small empire that has a single planet, and is almost ready to venture into space. But space is a dangerous place, and to flourish an empire needs but one thing: a good leader. You must lead your empire, control how it grows, manage your relations and military, and decide the best course of action at every step along the path to victory.

Before you can create an empire, you must first have logged in to an active account for Delta Quadrant: Horizons. You can log in from the Main Page. If you do not have an account yet, you can register here.

Once you are logged in you will be presented with the Empire Selection screen.

Each player may create an empire in multiple galaxies at the same time, however only one empire per player is allowed in each individual galaxy at any one time. If however your empire in a galaxy is destroyed (has no planets), then you are able to create a new empire in that galaxy.

To create a new empire, first find a galaxy that is open, and click the 'Join Now' button. You will be taken to the empire creation page. Here you must enter a name for your empire and leader. When you are ready click 'Create', and if everything was correct, your empire will be created.

Once your empire is created, you will be taken back to the Empire Selection Screen.

Each time you log into Delta Quadrant: Horizons you will be presented with the Empire Selection screen. From this page you can view the current status of each galaxy, as well as create and access your own empires. For details about empire creation, see the section Getting Started above. To access an existing empire, select it from the list on the left of the page.

The headquarters page shows a basic rundown of your empire's information and status. The top shows details such as your name and country (as entered on your profile page), as well as your empire name, ruler name and the name of your capital planet.

To the right is a list of statistics related to your empire and below this, your current research topic is shown.

The main body of the page is used for empire notifications, these will inform you of certain events that happen in your empire, such the completion of a new building or ship, or if you are attacked.
